The partially independent and private production of food relieves the primary economic sector. As a result, agriculture could switch to organic production, transport distances would be massively reduced, and natural resources such as water and nutrients (fertilizer) could be used much more efficiently. The environmental impact of intensive agriculture, monocultures and the deportation of fertilizer would also be minimized. Food can be produced where it is consumed through vertical farming.
